A mate for our girl? Our girl is one year old. We rescued her about six months ago with an injured wing and have raised her most of her life inside of our house. We are getting a little tired of shampooing our carpets every day so we were thinking of getting her a mate and letting them live outside in the coot my husband made. She has bonded with my husband and we were wondering if she might now bond with a male pigeon if we got her a mate. If anyone has any advice on this, we would sure appreciate it. Thanks - Corinne and Glen

I had a pigeon hen like that and she adjusted just fine to being an outdoor bird and having a real mate. It took awhile, but she became a contented wife and mother.
I see you are in Danville. We live about 45 minutes south of you in San Jose and have 50 pigeons. I have a male I'd be willing to give you--feel free to e-mail me. -Cathy |
