Advice needed for "Moulting Itchys"

Hi All,
Bailey, (my new fantail friend) has been in a moult since we adopted her about a month ago.
She seems very aggitated about the whole process, and is constantly preening, kicking, fluffing, pulling, probing, rearranging and de-arranging.
She's insistent on NOT having a bath more than once a week, but does delight in a good soak when she is in the mood.
Is there anything I can do to help her feel more comfortable? Something safe in the bath water? Herbal spray? Anything?
Your suggestions, experience, and advice would be most welcome!
Wild Dove

Tooty is abit like that especially when the little wax thingys started on his head and neck...My vet told me to preen him and try to get as much of the stuff off and it did help him..I preen him eveytime he is around me or sitting near me and he loves it...I have no idea how it feel but it must be itchy

Don't know that it would help the itchys but do a search in the archives for "borax" and see what you think. Borax added to the bath water helps with parasites as well as cleaning and brigthening the feathers .. might also provide some relief during molting.

Thanks Mary & Terry!
We just adopted Bailey last month, (she was abandoned and found on a road...no bands ), so she isn't quite ready to let me preen her yet, (although she is starting to sit on my knee and she adores Noodle).
I hadn't heard of the Borax bath...will give that a try as she has a couple of feather lice now and then.

Indeed, many fanciers use Borax--yup, the twenty mule team stuff.
