another pigeon

Pigeons in the tree threw another baby out. This one looks a bit older, can't fly but it walks, and it peeps still and it's got more feathers. It hasn't eaten anything yet, I think it's in shock. Has the same peck marks on the back of the head. Is it safe to put it in the kennel with the other pigeon? right now I have them seperate just in case.
Is it OK to feed wild birds parakeet seed?

Generally good to quarantine but no need in this case - there is just two birds in trouble from the same roost and they get the same treatment. It's true that one could have an illness the other doesn't but it's not so important at this stage when they are in desperate need of safety, warmth, water and food. Additionally, the psychological stress will come way down if they can be nest mates - they will indeed comfort one another even if the sometimes fight. If the last thread didn't reccomend dry dog food soaked to the desired consistency then please use this since it has a high degree of fat and protein which is what is needed (you can add some seeds to the mix and encourage them to peck at it between feedings - when they get strong enough to go they need to know how to eat and drink) . This should be a lot of fun for you - besides the extra laundry. If the birds have complications from the scratches and falls then it's another story. I assume the wounds are topical and then you just use Hydrogen Peroxide and Neosporin type ointment.

Something that i heard helps to comfort the babies is a feather duster. I've never tried it though, but good luck raising them! It's great that your taking them in and caring for them!
