I'm very sorry to hear this...

All life is worth something, Luke.

But I do know what you're asking. Talk to the person that supplied the pigeons to you. See if he insured the shipment. Even then, I don't know what the P.O. policy is. In the very least, the person you bought them from will probably give you a credit. 25% would be fair.

You know, you may be able to work a deal with the humane society or local wildlife
refuge, to help rehabilitate pigeons--and if they stick to your loft, so much the better!

They'll probably give you a real deal on vet services too, if they go for the idea at all.
Just a thought, as I've heard of this being done locally.

Sorry, Luke. In life you will incur losses.
Were these birds shipped by mail? Describe the shipping box, inside and out, and the condition of the other birds.

the box was like square at the botom and like a dome on te top the other birds were in great condition they were only a little scared but that is normal i'm thinking it might have died of shock from being in the box but when we had taken it out and saw it wuz dead it wuz stiff as a board

That stiffness was rigormortis, meaning the poor pigeon had been dead for a while.

Sorry, Luke
