There is a good starters book called 'Pigeons' ( surprisingly enough ) by Matthew M. Vriends. I'm in the UK but I think you have Petsmart stores, which is where I got mine.

You should get answers to any specific questions on here - there's a wealth of knowledge - and see a lot just navigating around this site.

Enjoy your new pigeon pals!

John

A good book is "The Pigeon" by Levi (sorry can't think of his first name). Look around for it, its an older book but the information is priceless.

Excellent suggestions, all. I would add, "A Veterinary Approach To Pigeon Health", by David Marx, DVM, to your collection too.

Side Bar: Nick, Levi's first name is Wendell. His book, "The Pigeon" has been the "Pigeon Bible", of sorts, for over 60-years. Although medical information has far advanced since it was first published in 1942, it's still, as you say, "priceless"--and quite literally, it is EXPENSIVE. This work features 1,127 illustrations! I prize my copy!

Do not ignore these half priced book stores...

Under, "etc.", have you fully navigated this web site? Click on "Resources" above. Better still, start from the home page. There's lots here. Emergency Care has nutrition information, and the stories available (Pigeon Lovers Tell All) offer info in an entertaining format.

Got questions? Ask em! PigeonsRus!
