BreedingI have been breeding and racing pigeons for meny years, and started when I was around 14.Now I hear about all the talk about eye sign and how you should pair your birds up to birds with the differant color eyes. Most of my birds have a light to dark gravel eye,and alote have a light orange to a dark red organe.Ca anyone give me areason for this pairing of diffrant eyes in pigeons, and does this make a bird raise champions.I have always bred birds with body form and according to there confirmation over all.Does eye sign play a big part of breeding winners. ------------------ H.Oglesbee

not that I've ever really given a lot of time to eye sign (find it WAY too confusing)....but I've never heard of pairing birds according to eye colour.
Strain, body type, wing type, sometimes feather colour, yes, but not eyes. Dunno....maybe there is something to it, but we've never paid any attention to it, and I can't complain about our race results.... |
