Building a nest

Hi. I have created a short article with pictures about the pigeon nest construction. If you are interested you can check this page . The eggs appeared in February and I didn't think the little ones will survive since I have a large open loft and it was pretty cold(frozen water). However, now they are adults and are already building their own nest.

I have just been enjoying your pictures and movies I congratulate you on your pigeons, a wonderful pictorial site and building such an excellent home for them all!

Indeed they have their own individual sound - whether calling the mate, grumbling about something or (as you say) purring. In the quiet of an evening, when most are roosting, it is so restful to listen outside of the aviary to their 'conversations'.

Sure thing! In fact I take a small chair and stay in the loft. Add some classical music, and here's heaven on earth. Heh, even all you here might think I'm completely insane. It's relaxing but also, this way I can notice many important things at each of them - health, nesting status, number of free perches, etc. They are over 50 now and I only have 2 eyes, so I spend some time there.
