Butterflies and Roses

Wayne Bulman I am a newbee,
I have been given seven pigeons white with curly feathers and feathers on their feet, nice flightcage 8x12 feet six feet high all metal. I have them in my greenhouse with my butterflies, seperate cage. I am concerned with temperature and humidity, and air flow. can you advise?

Hi Wayne and welcome! Sorry I messed up on splitting out your thread so all the members could more easily see it.

Do you perhaps have Frillbacks? Your birds sound lovely as does your setup for them.

Help!!!!!

Terry, I am very new to the forum situation. Are there special ways to make this easy for me to participate?

Can you tell me something about the birds I have just inherited? If I take a digital picture of them can someone talk me through posting it, so that I might show you these critters?

They are white with feathered legs and are very affectionate with each other.

Wayne (& almost reluctantly, wife Katrina)

Hi Wayne,

Now that we have your thread going just click on the reply button and type your message and then submit. That will keep your posts about the new birds here in this thread titled Butterflies and Roses.

I don't think Frillbacks have feathered (muffed) feet .. I was guessing that because of your description of curly feathers. There are several types of fancy pigeons with feathered feet. You might take a look through the gallery here at pigeons.com and see if any of those photos look like your birds.

If you can get some digital pictures you can attach them to a post here. After typing you message scroll down the screen until you see a button for Manage Attachments. Click on that and the bulletin board software will step you through uploading your pictures. Make sure the size of the picture files is not too large .. if they are, you will get an error message. If all else fails, feel free to e-mail the pictures to me at TAWhatley@earthlink.net and I'll post them here for you.

Pigeons are quite addictive, so I hope it won't be long before your wife is hooked too!

Terry
