CastorCastor has settled down in his new home with Terry and is enjoying the company of the rest of her residents, especially his immediate pigeon neighbors. He is a happy pigeon.
It was a joy and honor to meet Terry and her family. After seeing Castor settled she took us to Omar's Exotic Birds to meet the parrots there, and then on to one of the lakes where she feeds geese, ducks and pigeons every day. On our walk around the lake we saw carelessly discarded fishing line, and a little mallard with a hook and line in her leg. So far Terry has been unable to capture her. And this was at just one lake. If only people knew, or cared. Thanks, Terry, for all that you do. Marjorie |

Hi Marjorie and all,
I am so very happy to have Castor as a member of our flock here. He has settled in well and seems to be happy here. He had himself a nice, wet, splashy bath in his water crock just a bit ago .. silly bird .. he has a bath pan, but I guess the water bowl is "better". Castor and FanFan posture back and forth for hours each day .. I guess that's a pretty good sign that FanFan is also a male. Schnaz who is also near just kind of lets the world go by and seems to have no desire to get into the macho man contest. Moonbeam on the other side is also totally disinterested in the antics of the two fantails. I need to rearrange things a bit so a couple of cute girly birds are at hand to witness (and perhaps show an interest) in all this male showing off stuff. Marjorie .. you are about to be "one upped" however. A friend from my ducks list left New York City this morning at 4 AM driving to California with her son and 7 ducks who are in need of homes (the ducks need a home .. not the son). They hope to get here sometime very late on Thursday. Marjorie, I truly enjoyed meeting you and your husband and grandchildren and sharing Omar's, the duck pond, and my veritable zoo with you. I hope we can meet again sometime, and I'll have the camera ready for whatever bird decides to sit on your head .. that would have been a priceless picture at Omar's. I think it is wonderful that your love and devotion for Castor brought you all the way out here with him. Terry |
