Question

Egg

I did a search under "egg" but didn't find in looking at the posts any info on about how long the mama pigeon will sit on her egg. She's sitting on a wooden egg that a friend loaned me. When I let them out to fly yesterday she wouldn't leave their cage she just wants to sit. She seems to be a good mama; very protective of her wooden egg - she won't even let the male pij Jerry off his perch to eat.

Thanks,

Pam

She will sit for approximately 18 days which (give or take a day or so)is the incubation time for pigeon eggs.

Hello,

Usually the pigeon pair share the duty of sitting on the egg. It takes 17 to 18 days for the egg to hatch, so she will sit on this egg until this time has passed. She will grow bored with it and give up the dummy egg after that. Treesa
