Eggs fell--will they be alright?

Hi all!,
My pigeons have laid a new batch of eggs and about 3 days ago I found their nest on the bottom of their cage and their two eggs had cracked--only the shell cracked though--they were still intact. The eggs were laid on Oct. 21 and Oct. 25 and cracked on Oct. 5 or 6. One of the eggs shell cracked so bad that I can actually see inside the egg. Does anyone think these eggs will survive? I'm not sure how the nest box ended up on the floor of their aviary either--could they have done this themselves? They are both still sitting the eggs and I have watching they closely to see if there are any changes but nothing so far. I thought that one of the eggs should have hatched on or about the 8th--is that right? Thanks in advance for your help! If it would help I could take some pictures of the eggs. Thanks again!--Ange in Arizona

Hi,
I really don't think that the eggs will hatch now thay they have been cracked.
If the cracks are very small, you can get some clear nail polish and paint over them.
But by the sounds of things you should just throw them eggs out and let the hen lay a new round.

Ryan is probably right, but you have nothing to loose by letting the situation go on for a few more days. If the eggs are not going to hatch, the parents will stop setting.
If this happens, remove the old egs, stablize the nest box to prevent further problems, then wait for the next pair of eggs to come.
Regards,
Carl
