Flight Pen Maintenance

I have a 12 " deep gravel base in my flight pen and have been hosing it down at least twice a day. Should I be doing any additional cleaning/sanitizing of this type of material?

you may want to spray bleach on it about every other week

Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I'll keep the birds in the coop (vents closed) while I do this. Do I dilute the bleach? How long do I let it act before rinsing?

10% bleach 90% water. That is what I'm told to clean with. I guess you could wait a few minutes and then rinse again with plain water. 100% bleach is way too strong for my eyes.

Thanks, I will do the same. I think waiting a few minutes and then rinsing is a good idea. It only takes a few minutes for Clorox to work.
