Found banded pigeon

I found a disoriented (unable to take flight and being chased around the local library by overzealous children) exotic pigeon with a green APA band but am getting no help locating owner despite pursueing every lead. Does anyone have advice? Also, the bird seems to be eating and perching well. It has no obvious injuries. Should I attempt to release it? Will it find its way back home?

Please don't release him, he is obviously lost and will simply die out there..

Can you post all the letters and numbers on the band for us? Perhaps we can help trace the owner.

For now, please keep the bird and provide food and water.
