HawksI have so many red tail hawks in my area,Im gettin worried about the freedom of my pigeons they have free range as of now and thats what I enjoy .. as Im sure many of us do ,,but I can't call mine in..if their is danger lurking, the food ratteling blahh ,blahh,blahh dont work with my 3 that stay with me they come and go as they please and I was suprised when they were out for a fly this afternoon their was a hawk very near by but they did survive this encounter ....what should I do ?

If you fly your birds outside with hawks in the area, you will loose a bird here and there. That is just the way it is. After some time, the surviving birds will get wise, learn to avoid the hawk, but even then, the hawk will get a bird now and then.
If you do not want to risk loosing birds, then keep them inside. One other options is to build a large fly-pen or screened enclousre. |
