Homing pigeons

Does anyone know how to keep homing pigeons out of your yard??? My neighbor raises these and they are always in my yard, bugging my birds, and eating the feed that I give my birds. Any advice would be great!!!

Hmmm... that's a tough one. I'll be interested in hearing what the experts here have to say.

You say that you have birds too... what kind of birds?? ... would it be possible to remove the feed when the homers are around? I'd think if they quit being able to get food at your place, that would discourage them from coming around.

Get say a tennis ball toss it where they are every time you see them. They will fly away. And aftere awhile they should get discouraged about that and quit comeing around.

Thanks for your advice. I don't leave feed laying around for my birds. I usually feed them in the evening time and they eat everything!! The homing pigeons come in my yard throughout the day and I always do chase them away but they always come back! There is this one in particular that thinks he's so smart: I find him walking around my pigeon pen. I get annoyed and chase him. Well he just flies a few feet and stops. I chase him again. This time he flies away but only a minute later I hear this rustling(?) noise. You see, my nerighbor and I have a fence separating our yard and there are a bunch of trees with leaves on the ground. So I look and here is this same pigeon trying to sneek into my yard again!!! He did this about four times!! It was kinda funny actually because he kept coming back, but stay in your own yard!!

Pigeons instinctively go where there are other pigeons. Your neighbour has a loft adjacent to yours so the two of you have to work out a schedule so his birds will not annoy you and yours during their exercise. He should not give them a free loft but instead, release them on an empty crop. When they have finished exercising, he should call them in right away and feed them. Once he establishes this routine, his birds should be less of a problem for you. Do not keep any feed or water in your yard that these birds can access.
