how to handle injured pigeon?hi. can you help me ... I have encountered a pigeon who seems to have a broken wing and maybe foot. how do I handle her? In NYC - Park Slope.
I've left messages for some rehabbers. thanks. cath |

Hi Cath,
Have you caught her? I find that if I am dealing with an injured pigeon it is best to drop something like a light towel over it, so that it doesn't struggle and injure itself further when it is picked up. Then keep it very quiet and warm. It would be best if an experienced person examines the wing and leg for fractures for you...I always have to leave that bit to the vet! Cynthia
