Welcome, newbie! Isn't it great--they can fly! And the more I learn about them, the more impressed I am!

Watch this site fly in the weeks to come! There are huge changes coming for Pigeon Chat
as we talk. Carl, aka bigbird, is working some real magic! The new site will feature an album of his awesome digital images of show pigeons. He's really quite an artist!

Plus, members can post pics! There will be tons of pigeon facts and practical stuff too.
So, do come back!

PIGEONS FOREVER!!!

luke to Answer your question on the trap thing . It is placed on your Pigeon Pen .
Then when your pigeon return home they can go in but not go out , Untill you open it.
That is really cool Dont you think ? Mine i dont have one so i just open it at certain
times of the day , They love routine , They know that at Five pm im comming to feed them.
Have a nice day, Walt.

Minus:

It will be easier to reckon fats and carbs.
It seems pigeons only need 12% protein when training for racing, and you'll likely hit that easily with a good variety of pigeon treats.

Carbs: Corn, poso, milo, & wheat.

Fats: Peanuts, safflower, sunflower & legumes (dried split peas).

Pigeon pellets are available at feed stores and provide balanced nutrition.

Many pigeons enjoy thawed frozen peas and carrots, cut small, shredded cabbage, popcorn, Cheerios, bread, crushed pretzles, french fries, etc. Our Bernie loves thistle seed and split peas! Carl's bird likes Honey Nut Cheerios, pretzles and warm tea!
Terri's pigeon, Dinky, likes cooked peas--provided she can steal them off Larry's dinner plate; otherwise, forget em! Go figure...

Always provide a high calcium grit, whatever the diet. A vitamin like Nekton-S is a good idea too, but use as directed and do not use any bleach in the water when offering vitamins (or medication!).
