I have aquired a pigeon and need to know what to do.I run the petting zoo at our local camp and today I aquired a pigeon. I've never worked with pigeons before and have no idea what to do. She (that's how I refer to it as) was found in someones backyard after a big wind storm, is very tame, loves attention, eats right out of my hand, loves to "cuddle" (grabs on to the front of my shirt and clings there). I would like help so that she survives. Thanks.

You won't regret helping "her".
Life runs on the simplest stuff, and pigeons are great survivors. If she's healthy... 1) Fresh Water 2) Warmth 3) Food 4) Grit 5) Shelter 6) Company & Love If you email me directly, I'll reply with attachments. Your email will be stored as a private file in my personal database. --Ray |

Maybe. But Bernie is "different". He has a presence and personality that cannot be denied. I rescued him from a 4-lane road in rush hour. He marched right up to me. He had no band. Later, employees at the grocery store told us he'd been out there for days.
Nobody could get near him. As recent as yesterday, Judy has commented, "My God, look how he looks at you when you talk to him." I am by no means a mystic, but I somehow feel that Bernie knows things. He just does. It's uncanny. --Ray |
