Leave the babies to Mom & Dad for the fist month. Do not handle chicks unless they fall out of the nest--then put them back at once.

Give Mom & Dad Pigeon lots of space. But you can be near if you're quiet and you keep
everybody cool.

Don't worry about imprinting on the babies--you will! Just speak gently and be a part of it.

You will learn to earn the trust of your pigeons. It may take a while, but it will happen. Just be cool and be kind, always.

I have a friend in New Zealand. She's about ten years old and has asked many questions just like yours. Her name is Anise. I will see if I can put you in touch with her.

Luke if you ever get a chance try to hand raise one of your baby's it is really exciteing and they will never be scared of you. Mine is in a beer box on top of my PC tower. They grow so fast ,And besides their eyes would be closed at hatching time .Good luck. Walt

Too soon for that, Luke.

You are young and there are many tomorrows.

Besides, this is something to consider only when parents will not or cannot do the job.

Judy and I have done this with other birds (not pigeons) and Walt's right--it's an amazing experience!
