In-Breeding in Pigeons

How big of a problem is in-breeding when it comes to Pigeons? Are there genetic defects or congenital problems that can happen? How would one prevent it in a loft / coop?

Line breeding and inbreeding has long been a way to build and improve a family of birds. Good record keeping is a must. Improved quality is the goal. Yes birds can get to close. select out breeding is the answer to add vigor and reduce some breeding problems. Birds are put together To improve faults add needed qualitys. this raises the over all betterment of the family of birds. uncrontroled and just put together breeding methods reduce a family of birds fast. And both show and flying type are reduced in quality. And performance.
