David,

I'm so sorry to hear you lost your second bird.

They do get heavy on the wing at 3 months and it is always best to train and fly them together in groups of 6 or more.

Don't give up hope, sometimes they do return.

Do you have any old birds that's trained to return to your loft? Maybe letting them out would attract the 2 youngsters to join and return to the loft.

Nope, my two old birds came from another loft about 30 miles away.

They may still return. They may even be close by you just can't see them. They could be in a nearby tree, or on a neighbors roof. Sometimes they will just sit until they get hungry enough to want to fly back.
