Lost our Pal yesterday

Well I want to thank all of you for your help and advice you gave me. When I found Pidge Rodriquez and needed advice you were here.
Yesterday She was killed in our yard by a hawk.
It was quick but gruesome. I know that is how nature works but it sure hurts. We missed seeing her this morning and I miss her when I come home at night. (she was always cooing when I walked up to the back door) We miss her waiting at the crack of dawn for fresh water and cracked corn etc... I could go on and on but I am sure you all have been here before also.
I feel very sad since we decided to bring her in the house and make her part of our inside flock. We had a cage and were ready to move her. Very Ironic!!! It just plain sucks.
However, she certainly had a spoiled rotten few months with us.
Thanks again.
Peace Out

I am so sorry for your loss. Last year I lost 3 babies to the hawks, it took me a while to get over it.
I am glad to hear that your little guy had at least a few months of a wonderful life.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Robb. We've lost pigeons to hawks too, and it sure hurts. Haven't lost one right in front of us; that must have been awful. Did have a near miss in front of us and that was bad enough. It's so sad that you were on the verge of bringing her inside when she was killed.

Hello Robb,
I am so sorry about Pidge Rodriquez.

Now is the time to search deep in your heart & you will find the nest she built. In that nest will be all the wonderful memories of the times you spent together. Enjoy them!

'Special' thoughts are sent your way.
Cindy

Dear Robb,

I am so sorry about your bird friend. So many little lives, and so few we can fully protect. And still every single tiny effort counts. If you can, please, keep transmitting those drops of water that seem so senselessly spent on white-hot rocks. I am sure each of them helps to make a difference. Maybe small, but still a spark of hope.

Hi Robb, I'm so sorry to read about your loss. I too have lost a few to hawks (one right in front of me). You feel so helpless. And yes, I lost one that was very dear to me. It does suck and I feel your pain. Bless his little soul. May he come back to you in another form..maybe another pigeon. I'm really sorry.

...just another pigeon lover commiserating in your loss. I'm so sorry. At least she had some good (well-fed!) months with a loving guardian: you!

With sympathy,
Jill (and Pidge Pidge)
