Manual incubationHello folks,
first of all, those who celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas. Those who celebrate Hannuka, Happy Hannuka and for all of you, have a wonderful Holiday Seasons. Now, issue here. After taking it easy all summer, my fantails laid two eggs. However, either male or female don't sit on the egg and the temperature outside is nearly -5 w/wind chill. So, I want to know how to incubate the eggs manually, as this would be my first babies and I don't want to loose them. I don't have an incubator and I would use a light bulb or IR heat lamp. If anyone who has experienc, if you can tell me the temp level, humidty etc, I would very much appreciate it. ------------------ pgn&dove

I hatched four eggs under a lamp. I maintained about an 85 degree temp. I turned the eggs over everyday. Once in the morning and once in the evening. I also covered the eggs with a coffee filter as to not microwave them, besides I didn't want the bright light to harm them when they were born. I used a 60 watt lite bulb. I can't tell you about the humidity. It's pretty humid here in South Florida. Good Luck.
