See if you can get Walt's attention...

If memory serves, Walt uses a red flag and timed feeding to persuade his birds.

Always be calm and make sure friends aren't "hyper" around your loft.

Luke you might want to try and keep them locked up for a week or so. And when you go in to feed them, try to move real slow and try to talk low to them. They will learn to trust you after awhile. But,they will always be kind of spooked when you come around . Just have patience with them.Mine used to stay out like that, also. And, they even started to roost on top of their loft, so I locked them up.Then, after a week I started feeding them in the evening and now like clockwork they come in when I wave my flag. And yes,I do whistle to them.It seems to work also . Good luck Walt

Luke i feed my birds a mixture of Feed that i make with oats, milo, corn chops,And Laying pellets , But you can buy pigeon pellet's at your feed store , And to answer your question No i don't think they will get sick of the same thing , But like you and i they don't mind a little something different now and then . But ask Carl (BIGBIRD)He will know more about this than i. ok ? Walt
