Neighbor shot a pigeon

Today off the telephone pole with a bebe gun. I wasn''t home but my brother heard like a air pump and then next thing he knew a pigeon was on the driveway lying there dead. I made flyers and posted them on the street tonight saying my bird was shot and died today if anyone has info on who did this to call the police. If you have any other ideas please let me know. I would like to shoot the creep right back in his A - -. I didn't get to see the pigeon because animal control picked it up and she was very upset my brother said. All I know is he was the very dark colored one. He was basically a loner on the pole everyday.. sad.....

Angry

There isn't much to say andinla, except...
How sorry I am that your brother had to witness such a horrific event.

Personally, I would like nothing better than to meet this disgusting excuse for a human being face to face.

All we can do is continue our non-stop, never ending, fight to make this world a safer place for our fine feathered friends to live.
Cindy

PS: Thanks so much for attempting to find out who did this.

Sorry you had to experience this. Yes, advertising and letting everyone know what happenend is a great idea, I am also sick and tired of pigeons being treated as flying rats, we have to continue to educate and make everyone aware that these birds are an important part of the echo system, they are smart, they can think, they have feelings, and can fly so beautifully, like a song! They have as much right to live in this world, they are part of God' creation!

So sad... I am glad you posted fliers--maybe a little public humiliation will do him some good. What a gerk. Disgusting. I am so sorry for your loss. Even when they are birds that we watch from a distance, they become good friends

I'm sorry too...poor bird. Good idea with the flyers. I think I would post another one like a yellow or orange paper, making it look like it came from the police about the law about shooting a gun (any kind) in the city and "hunting" and that any one with any information call the police. We had one of those jerks living behind us, except my husband caught him so we knew who he was. He was killing all kinds of birds!

I immediately called the police and asked them if it was against the law to shoot a bb gun in the city...and that got them worked up enough to come to the guys house. They were there in minutes. I also told them I have pet pigeons and I'm afraid for their safety and that he's shooting at "native" birds too and that anyone could easily get hurt as well. They warned him because he denied it but that was the end of that.

He resorted to clapping at them and amazingly, the birds left at that.. Now wasn't that a lot simpler? Stupid!
