New birds arrivingOK I basically have this flock of 20 ladies and gentlemen pigeons which are approximately 3 months old. I have been training them since late August and just started flying them two weeks ago. They are vaccinated for PMV and paratyphoid. I have 4 new baby pigeons in the mail. They are 5 weeks old and have not been vaccinated for anything at all.
Is it OK to put them in the loft with my other 20 ladies and gentlemen, or should I keep them caged separately until they are vaccinated? Now if it is OK to put them in there will the older birds pick on them? |

I don't understand your response to ZK... holding them seperate for 2 to 3 days makes sense... but "treat them But hold on the pmv until they get older"... isn't making sense, what do you mean?? I think maybe you dropped a few words there in your thought?? Sorry, just trying to understand as I'm going to probably add some birds here too. |

treating new birdsGlobal has a 3 in 1 to treat them with? I have heard it has treats for cocci, worms, and respiratory. I that the correct thing to treat them with? Now if so after that can I put them with the other birds that have been vaccinated for PMV and paratyphoid? Then my next question is how old should birds be to receive their vaccines and which ones are of most importance?

At 5 weeks old They are young yet for pmv vaccine. Old birds die some times from the vaccine. Thats why I suggested hold the pmv until they get a little older. They can be treated for other things now. And watch. them. If they had been exposed to pmv at this young age they would not have made it. So I would hold on that to let them mature some first.
