Newly hatched

Please can anyone give me some advise, have just found a newly hatched squab in my avairy, the parents have pushed it to the side and it's very cold. I have now got it in a brooder, I have looked over the little one and realised that there is a hard lump of what looks like phoo stuck to it's bottom. Could this be the reason why the parent's might of abandonded it? Please could you give me some suggestions of what I can do, don't want to pull at it. Please help as soon as possible. Thanks - Karen
