In the past eye sighn has been and not been a big deal. Grades from one thru ten on eyes have been noted. NO the eye will not make the bird fly faster. As a fact it has been proved the eye will not make the bird get home either. A good alert eye is best said. Violet eyes are a janssen trade mark. The colr around the pupil width and color has been used to grade the eye. BUT I would not over rate the eye. A good alert eye. And a active bird with the other points to breed and fly should be looked and bred towards. Then the rest is luck and sound breeding and training .

look deepeye sighn as its called is very difficult to follow a large bright alert eye is a good sighn and often is all you need to look for certain breeds such as white homers have dark colored eyes so this cant be held for them however with a magnifying glass you can identify certain traits that bird will have such as is it good at long distance short distance etc will look for a web site that spells it out have it somewhere
