Pigeons of Sonoma County CA Need You

The Santa Rosa Bird Rescue Center euthanizes any pigeons, starlings, ringneck doves, or english sparrows brought into the facility. I've been taking birds from them for the past 6-7 years and ferrying them to Wildcare in San Rafael. I'm unable to continue doing this because I have moved to San Francisco and have a job which requires me to work late. Is anybody willing to help the unfortunate feral birds of Sonoma County? If so please call Santa Rosa Bird Rescue at (707) 523-BIRD and leave your phone number with them so they can contact you when they get ferals. I would appreciate it if you also told me the number of birds you are taking to Wildcare so I can provide them with appropriate funding.

Thank you for the help!

I can't help as I am in the UK, so can only ensure that this gets bumped up.

What an angel you have been !

This would be a wonderful opportunity for someone that wants to contribute towards the rescue of pigeons and their fellow birds but doesn't have the facilities to care for them at home.

Called Roberta at Santa Rosa. They will get back to me. If it is not too often I can do it - my commute is over a hundred miles on the deal. Another problem is I would want to take them myself and I have seven birds in my bedroom and I have limited quarantine facilities.

Dano, could you possibly hold them for a week if you can't get them to Wildcare in San Rafael. I usually drive up to Sonoma County once a week and could act as a birdy shuttle. The problem with the Bird Rescue Center in Santa Rosa is that they put the babies down after 24 hours, and sometimes they don't even wait that long.
