Sick bird?

Hi

I posted a couple of days ago asking about pigeon treats. Mary kindly replyed and said to try thawed peas. Anyway I have just offered her some, she took 1 peck and walked away (she didn't even eat a whole one). My concern is that about 10 minutes later she started to be sick. She has bought up lots of seeds I can't see anythink else in it. Should I be worried? Is there a chance the pea disagreed with her? Or is it common for birds to bring up their seed?

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Did you see any green with the seeds that she vomitted up?

Some birds don't like things they are not used to, sometimes my birds will eat thawed peas and corn and sometimes they won't and will do as yours did (just walk away)

Just keep an eye on your pijjie, offer him smaller seeds at this time and lots of water to flush whatever is in his system that is making him sick. Maybe it would be a good idea to add some ACV (Apple cider vinegar) in the water.

There was nothing green or anthing else in her vomit just wet seeds.

She seems fine now, I was just shocked to see her being sick.

I already mix 'Multi-Vit for birds' into her water. I have seen ACV mentioned before but I don't know anthing about it. What does it do? Where do you buy it?

ACV (apple cider vinegar) can be purchased at most supermarkets or ealth food stores, 1 teaspoon to gallon water, will keep their gur PH at at a level bacteria doesn't like. You only need to use it once in a while during winter, more often in the summer. Treesa

Most of my pigeons love safflower seed--it's their absolute favorite, and what we give them as treats. But not every pigeon feels the same way. Our tame fantail, Gabriel, doesn't like it all. Some really like hemp seed, available (around here, at least) in some pet stores.
