What age do they lay eggs ?

Hi to all ! I havn't posted for awhile but now have a question. Horace is still doing well, I have had he/she for 8 months now and he/she is a house bird. When do the females lay eggs ? age wise ? I suspect from behavior Horace is a she but have been waiting for an egg to confirm my thoughts. She/he is active, beautiful and healthy. Thanks for any help---Jennifer

Hi,
I don't know exactly, I think it varries from bird to bird.
My Angel layed eggs for the first time when she was 51/2 months old, but somebody told me other pigeons layed their eggs at 1 year.

We had a little hen lay an egg at 3 1/2 months old two years ago. So they CAN lay at an early age but I think around 6 months or older is more normal.
