What to do?

I still have a pair of pigeons that havent' nested. They didn't seem to like the old chicken nest that I had put in with them, so I built a "pigeon box", which is a nest designed just for pigeons. They seem to like it so far.
Is there anything I have to do to get the female to accept the nest and lay eggs?
The male likes it, but he can't get the female (her name's Ava, by the way) to come in the nest with him.
(I'm beginning to feel like my pigeons are being difficult on purpose.)

P.S. If I just feed them regular pigeon feed from the feed store, will they be fine with that?

Well Sandy, the first question is; Are you sure they are a pair (hen & cock)? Sometimes they act like a pair, but with no eggs, you are guessing.
If you are sure they are a pair, place them into two separated cages, next to one another for about a week. Then place them together into another different cage, large enough for them to mate, lay eggs, and set on the nest. Have feed, water and grit in the cages. This may sound extreme, but if you want it to happen, this I know works.
But, only if they are hen and cock. This method does not work very well with two cocks or two hens.

I am sure they are a hen/cock pair.
(I sit and watch them in the coop)
Will the male try to go after another female if I take his mate away?

Thank you !!

whats the hurry?
besides the fact that your breeding season should be done by the end of july so your birds can moult and they wont moult if on eggs and they won't moult afterseptember if they have not already started by august (takes three months) and if they don't moult they will not make it through the next winter without be coming sick or catching diseases, and therefor having your next years hatches to weak to make the end of season cut i would say it is necessary to get breeding and you only have time for one more hatch this year

suggestions: lock bird and mate up in nest box with next bowl and one dummie egg. The hen will start sitting on dummie egg with in two days and a real egg will follow soon after then take away dummie egg and pair will lay a secong real egg. Once the first egg is layed you can let the birds out of next box for they will come back. This process will take about ten days
