Will pigeons find a new home?

We are renovating our old barn and although it saddened me, we had to chase the 7 or 8 pigeons out (2 were Pij's parents!!). I think some have laid eggs. No hatchlings though, I checked everywhere. A few of the pigeons are still sitting on top of the barn and its been snowing out all day. When will they leave to find a new home? My heart is breaking.

Poor loves, perhaps they were hoping to return to those eggs.

One of my pigeons that I rescued as a squab escaped during the worst gales of the winter. He returned safe and sound 3 days later. If he was capable of finding shelter then the evicted pigeons will too!

Hi, such a shame, I can understand how your feeling. I'm sure they won't go too far for a new home and if your really lucky they might visit. Hope it doesn't take them too long to realise. - Karen x

i had palm trees trimmed that was home to many. i don't know where they go at night but they still come back during the day. so i guess their doing just fine.
i felt guilty but considering what happens during nesting season i'm glad i did it. its gut wrenching when a nest falls from a 50 foot palm tree.

Thanks guys for your replies. The weather has warmed up...that's a relief anyway. Hopefully, they will join up with one of the many flocks in the area. Arty, thanks for the offer!! I'll let them know about your place.
