Also get some nesting material that will provide good traction in the nest bowl ASAP.

Unhappy

Pigeon with on splayed leg

Well my 4 weeks old baby pigeon got alittle better than how it was before. his right tighe was pushed out to far and i put both of his legs through a sponge for a week or so. but, now his right leg from knee below is turned too far out and i'm worried if i wait anymore longer he will be like that for ever and i do not want that to happen. so i want to know if anyone knows any good avian doctor in the Escondido,California area that could help me at a low cost.
Thank you

Kaftar,

There are two avian vets at Acacia Animal Health Center in Escondido, but they are expensive. And there is a Dr. Smith in Oceanside at the Oceanside Veterinary Hospital who is an avian vet and Dr. Stonebreaker in Del Mar. They are all expensive.

I have looked all over for avian vets in the North San Diego County area and these are the only ones I have been able to find.

Can you post a picture of your bird?

hi, Margarret

well i took him to Acacia health center yesterday and had Dr.Gary Gallerstein look at him and he said he will probably get better but, there is no 100%gurantee. So what he did is made a skate board type of thing for his feet and taped it down so he could stand up if he wants to but, he said i need to make a sling for him so he does not put too much pressure on his feet. it cost me $172.00 which i had no choise because if i waited any longer he would have a deformed leg for rest of his life and he wouldn't be able to survive. He is very happy and hopefully he will recover. i wil post some pictures later on. But thanks for the information you provided.
