wheezing pigeon


the pigeon sounds as if it is wheezing and i need to know what is wrong here is a picture and there is mucus around its nostrils

thepigeons cere is brownish yellow an it is acting fine but making a loud wheezing noise.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know

It certainly seems like the pigeon has some kind of respiratory infection - although that could be a symptom of a deeper problem - and the nasal discharge is staining the cere.

My first thought would be to get the bird checked out by a vet who does deal with birds. They may then prescribe something like a course of Baytril if it is likely to be a bacterial infection.

Are the eyes watery, too?

Or even Doxycycline--they use Tetracyclines a lot for respiratory infections.

i have to


No avian vets in my area but normal vets and right now i am treating bird for respiratory and it is getting better. All birds in that loft are being treated and will hopefully be the last of it.

Make sure and thoroughly disinfect everything during and after the treatment.
