is it illegal to raise blue-gray tanagers becuse down in miami alot of people sell it and also another red and green bird which i dont know the name of

I don't think it's illegal. A lot of people are selling them on the internet and their status is "of least concern". Could the other bird you saw be a Grass-green Tanager?

thats the reason i ask becuse there nice but i dont want to get in trouble for buying one

yes i heard they are quite friendly,a bird rescurer save a pair and they would feed off his hand

wow, had to look it up.. pretty bird.. if it is not a native species then I suppose it is leagal to sell captive stock... that is just a guess on my part.
