When do Killdeer have babies?Hey at my house there are killdeer EVERYWHERE and today i saw two mating and was wondering if it is time for them to lay? I thought it was pretty early for them to be mating in january...

its most likely a migration gathering thing for now ,way to early for breeding and egg laying .

Not sure when they start laying, but can't wait. They're babies are such cute little fluff-balls on stilts! :3

LayingI was cutting the grass on a hill along the property line and had to stop, They had there nest and one egg and where doing the broken wing game. I guess the grass will grow. >Kevin
