Confirmation that spring has arrivedSpring is here, I had to go rescue this bunch yesterday from a fenced in backyard where Momma Duck had decided to build her nest in some guy's juniper bushes. Do you have any idea how problematic it is getting 9 of these little fellows and a very angry Momma rounded up and boxed for relocation to a private lake where there's no dogs with teeth and kids with sticks and BB guns?
They're baby Mallards, cute little fellows but very hard to catch when covered by juniper bushes, notice the wounded thumb.

Adorable! Why must your rescues be so cute!?
Makes me want some baby duckies right now. I have to wait a couple weeks before mine hatch though.
