Doves go crazy for water.

At my work our doves never get bird bath's. But When I work animals and its hot I like to spray them with the hose, and then they lay down and pull there wing back like there streching. So the other day I got the idea to give them a bird bath. Most of them have never seen one or to my knowledge had never seen one, but here was my result.

Oh Michael that was such a smart thing to realize and a kind thing to do for those lite Doves. I loved the pictures. I'll bet they feel good after that bath.

Thanks for offering the doves a bath and for sharing the photos with us. It's beautiful the way the light plays across their backs, the soft tan color and the black ring accent.

If there's one thing pigeons and dove love, it's taking baths (and yet people still claim they are dirty and nasty...). If they aren't provided with one, then sometimes they'll resort to flicking water from their drinkers on to their feathers trying to bathe. So they may not have ever had a nice little pan to take a bath in, but they might have tried to take a bath before. That and your little spray bottle probably taught them that "hey, I can take a bath in this thing! " Therefore them flocking to it, lol.
You did the right thing by letting them enjoy their first bath
From the looks of it, they really enjoyed it. It's a good stress reliever for them too.
