Pictures of Speccy and me

Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I posted pictures of Speccy my starling with only one foot. Speccy has all his adult feathers now and looks beautiful. He is such a loveable little guy. It's funny because when I talk to him he turns his head from side to side listening to every word I say to him. It took a little time to get Speccy to trust me after what a human did to him, but he has found not all humans are alike. It's really amazing how one little bird that went through so much and had his foot cut off by a human has totally trusted another human. So far though I'm the only one in the house he trusts right now, but in a way I can understand because I'm the one who devoted and spent the time taking care of him and I think he knows that. Speccy, when he is out of the cage he will get on my hand. I can put my head close to him and talk to him with out him flying away. It was so cute today because I opened the cage door and put him by it while he was on my hand and he went right in, he's such a boy. I still think about his sibling and cry. Well I finally got a chance to get some pictures of him and I close together and on my hand. I also want to say not all time they will tame like Speccy did. Speccy was stressing a bit because my daughter was moving around which he doesn't like, plus she was trying him to get on her hand which he won't because I'm the only one he trusts right now. Well anyway! here are some pictures of us together.

You can really see that you and Speccy have quite a special relationship. I'm so glad to hear he is doing so well.

He is such a beautiful and sweet bird. You did so great with him, no wonder he trusts you. What a sweet little soul.
I hope he can forget the horror he went through, he looks quite happy now.

Mary Ann, you must have the magic touch with this little guy. I'm really glad he is beginning to trust you and it probably won't be long before he will trust the rest of your family. It just takes time.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful MaryAnn! I've "known" Mary Ann for a good while now thanks to the Starling-Talk board and we've talked a number of times on the phone. I KNOW that Mary Ann is one of those people who is a bird whisperer.

Thank you so much for saying such nice things, and your very welcome. Every one of my birdies are very special to me, but Speccy and I have to add my Peawee too is very special to me, I put my heart and soul into saving these little guys even when I knew their chances didn't look good. My biggest worry with Speccy was him getting a bone infection and going through his system.

Speccy and I do have that special bond with each other, a bond that will never be broken.

Treesa, Speccy is really doing great. It's a great feeling to be able to him right next to me.

Maggie, It's funny you said that about having a magic touch because I know Terry remembers the first time I talked to her on the phone, she said to me that I have a magic touch. I'm not sure if Speccy will ever trust anyone else like he trusts me.

Reti, I hope he has forgot the horror he went through. He is really a sweet little guy and shouldn't of had to go through what he did, no bird or animal deserves it.

Shi, You are so right, love and patience do work. There have been times that I had to put things and my family on the back burner because a bird was my priority, and thank god my family understands. I will definitely keep everyone updated.

Terry, There have been times I don't know what I would of done without you. You taught me about pigeons when I knew nothing about them, you are a god send to me.

Brad, The picture I like the best is where I'm leaning on the cage and Speccy is next to me while I'm talking to him, it's one of those special moments. I feel lucky to have Speccy in life. We definitely do have that special bond with each other, it started the day he was brought to me.
