Bloomer now Flying High at Rainbow Bridge

Greetings, Faithful Pidgie Friends!

I originally posted the news of Bloomer's passing to Rainbow Bridge on his thread in the Adoption Forum and wanted to thank all of you whom prayed for his recovery as well as all of your great encouragement during his illness.

I especially want to thank and bless Terry, (TAWhately) for taking the time to speak with me and direct me as to what I should do for him. And for speaking with me today after Bloomer went Home to Rainbow Bridge to comfort and assure me that I did everything possible to give him a fighting chance.

I also was blessed by the responses from Mary, Hilly, Charis and Dezirrae to my original post. It blessed my heart to read such comforting and uplifting words from you guys. I'm also glad that he's 'Flying High' and Cooing thanks from above not only to me but to all of you.

Before he was to go to Rainbow Bridge, I walked him outside and sat in the sun speaking with him and praying with him. Because the Doc was busy doing surgeries, I was able to spend from 11:30am to 2:30pm with him while he rested with eyes closed most of the time. Once in awhile looking up at me and to the sky. I wanted him to enjoy the sun and sky before leaving.

I then took him home after his passing and gave him a beautiful service, first placing him in his carrier near The Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Blessed Mother and Angels in my front yard while saying prayers to commend his spirit to God.

Then I placed him in his box wrapped in his towel and covered with his blanket and placed him before St. Francis saying prayers of thanks for bringing him to me and for watching over him at Rainbow Bridge until I Meet with him again. I laid him to rest beneath the St. Francis statue with his branch perch made into a cross.

Before typing this post, I read the other posts from those whom have suffered loss of their beloved friends. I said prayers for healing of hearts for all.

We all shall Meet again! AMEN!

Christin,
So very touching.
I know that St Francis has worked through you to give Bloomer a beautiful flight home. A lovely and loving tribute. He must know you well. You are living your faith.

Fly high, little Bloomer.

Feather hugs and tears, Mary

OOPS attached wrong pic....

Hello again,

Forgive me for posting one wrong pic which was supposed to be Bloomer basking in the sunlight.

The attached pic of the broken window was something Bloomer and I came across while taking our stroll....it was a jagged broken window with a hole large enough for a poor unsuspecting bird to try to perch and for sure would be slashed by the jagged thin glass. Bloomer and I rushed back to my vehicle to get a package envelope and tape. I wrote the message, "PLEASE board this to prevent bird injuries.THX" Bloomer even blessed his fellow friends before his departure because I would never have come upon the broken window if we weren't taking our stroll!

Here's the correct pic of Bloomer's last outing here on earth.

Thanks and Blessings to all of you...always!

Christin,

I am so sorry to hear of Bloomer's passing. You gave him ease at the end and such a beautiful transition in the way of your faith. Fly free Bloomer in the eternal skies.

Thanks so much Margaret & Reti.

I'm comforted that he's not suffering and half expected being that he was so ill when I picked him up...glad that I got him to the vet the next day and tried everything to give him a chance.

I had read yesterday about your Chubbs, Reti...what a shock it must have been...my prayers are with Daisy and hope she's adjusting well. Rabbits are very loving with each other...I have 5 couples....4 of which are close to 10 years. After losing someone and after the adjustment period, I would adopt another little friend from the shelter as a friend for the other that was left alone and they did very well. I'm glad that Chubbs & Daisy found their way to you for love and care instead of being put down. Bless you for also being a Bunny Friend!

Christin, I'm so sorry to hear about Bloomer. Thank you so very much for taking him in and doing what you could for Bloomer. Bloomer was lucky to have known what love was even though it wasn't for long, but at least he had that with you. I know he touched your heart and you touched his too. I know your empty feeling and pain your going though, but always remember Bloomer is never really gone because he lives forever in your heart.

Christin, So sorry to hear of Bloomer's passing.

You did your very best for him and he knew he was loved by such a kind caring and thoughtful person. It is so hard to lose them, but comforting when we are able to hold them and be with them till they peacefuly pass over to rainbow bridge.

Comforting hugs,

Lindi

Thank you Shi, Mary Ann and Lindi...

I thank you for your kind words and uplifting encouragement about my care of Bloomer prior to and during his departure.
It is a great comfort, as since his departure to Rainbow Bridge, I've been wondering about what I should have/could have done differently or better to save him. As I'm sure everyone else knows those feelings.
Now, I'm just going to let go and look forward to hugging and kissing him again when we Meet again!

Blessings to all of you and your Beloved Creatures!

Christin, If this makes you feel better, yes, we all question ourselves if we could of, or should of done things differently, but when it comes right down it you've done all the right things you could of possibly done. Most of these birds that are reported to us we have no way of knowing how bad they are because people who find these little ones don't deal with birds and don't know that birds hide there sickness until it's to late. When the lady sent an email to us about condition of this little one I got in contact with her right away even though it wasn't my case, but we on 911 Pigeon Alert help each other out with emergency cases. I go through "If only" I lived close to the finders, but I know I can't be everywhere and lord knows it sometimes gets the best of me. But please know that you did everything possible for Bloomer, there was nothing else you could have done differently. Just know when you meet again, Bloomer will there with open wings out to hug and kiss you back.

Bless you, Mary Ann!

Your message brought tears to my eyes because I needed to read such right at this moment. Even though I didn't have him for that long, I was really saddened that he didn't recover.
When I read the part that you wrote about him flying to me with hugs and kisses, I pictured it and my saddness disappeared!
Thanks so much for that Blessed message!

I also posted that the other one-legged pigeon from North Salem flew from the lady and hopefully back home...she was getting ready to bring him over when it happened.
