I'm so sorry to hear about the sudden lose of your beloved Butch
Like others have said - it is so difficult loosing a member of the family. I know you've had a difficult several months lately Terry and my heart goes out to you. Do take extra special care of yourself. Butch is still with you - and will always be. RIP dear one.

I'm so sorry about your tragic loss of Butch. There's been so much sadness lately, no words of mine would be much consolation. I just wanted to let you know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

Terry,
I am truly sorry over your loss of Butch and especially since it was so sudden. With dogs or cats, you always kind of expect that you will have to put them to sleep as old age creeps up and to be kind. However, you never really expect to have them "fine" one moment and dead the next. This is something you more or less expect with birds. You can probably take comfort in knowing that Butch's heart attack probably took him out very quickly and without much pain. I think this is a better "demise" for a pet than to suffer on and on because we humans "decide" we should try to keep them alive no matter what suffering they might be going through. Again, I'm truly sorry because it's extremely hard to loose a canine so dear to your heart, it's very devastating for sure. ![]() I hope you don't mind Terry, but for those who haven't seen a picture of Butch, here is one that I had of him. ![]() |

Thanks so much, Brad, and for posting the photo! I'm still looking for the photos of Butch when we got him at 5 weeks of age. If I ever find them, I will definitely post them .. just beyond adorable!

Just found this thread, I'm so very sorry for your loss, what a shock it must have been
![]() I adore dogs and I know how hard it is to lose a best friend and companion and the pain heals and subsides a bit with time though we will never forget them. Still, he went quickly and hopefully painlessly and that should be some consolation, when they are ill and pine away it's perhaps much worse, and the dreaded decision is awful. He was obviously very well loved and lucky to have a wonderful friend and owner in you, I truly believe that when we die we will see all our beloved ones, the two legged and the four legged. Like I just told someone who lost a beloved pet think of the happy times you had together and all the love you gave cute little Butch. What an adorable picture of the little fellow. |

Thanks, Terri! Butch was not only a sweet looking dog, he was a very sweet and loving dog .. not a mean or aggressive bone in his chubby little body.
