Farewell Chuckie ..

I am very sad to report that I found Chuckie dead this morning. This was totally unexpected as Chuckie was a relatively young bird and seemed hale and hearty yesterday. Chuckie was found and rescued by a kind lady who kept him and nursed him back to health after being attacked by some type of predator. His rescuer felt that Chuckie would be happier in a place where there were other pigeons, so she brought him here. Chuckie was left with a wing injury that rendered him flightless. Chuckie was a very spunky and territorial fellow who showed kindness or tolerance only to his older white mate, Specky .. everybirdy else was on his "hit" list. When Specky passed on, Chuckie became kind of an old curmudgeon and didn't seem to have any interest in having another mate.

Fly free, dear Chuckie!

Terry

...and now, Chuckie is reunited with his Specky...

I'm sure both are flying free, happy to be together...

My condolences to you, Terry...left behind to grieve in this world...

With Love and Hugs

Goodbye Chuckie, I hope you're with your mate now, flying free. Say hi to Garye and Julius for me!

Yeah, sometimes when they lose that special someone, they don't want to go on. It's sad.

I'm very sorry you lost Chuckie.
As heart wrenching as it is, whenever I loose one of my friends, I tell myself they are flying free now.

I'm sorry to hear about Chuckie, Terry. It has to be sad to have both of them
pass on, though I'm quite sure that they are both reunited in a much different
world w/out the old aches and pains.

Thank you all for your condolences. Chuckie really was quite a character, and he is already sorely missed.

Terry,
I was so sorry to hear you lost Chuckie as you did. Seems like you have had more than your share of goodbyes in the last few months.

Thanks again, everyone. It has been a bit of a rough patch around here lately. I guess, though, that is to be expected. When you have lots and lots of pets and rescues, it stands to reason that there will be some losses along the way.

I am so sorry you had another loss, Terry.
You're right. When you have a lot of babies, some will leave us along the way. Besides, most of them we take in because there is something wrong with them to begin with.

Still it is so sad when they die.

Oh, I'm sorry to read about Chuckie. Like everyone said, I know he's flying again, free and easy with his buddy.
