Oh...Pete,

I'm SO sorry....I'm sitting here in tears....

she was indeed a beauty with a beautiful name.

I'm sending you a big hug and thoughts of comfort.

I know words are nothing compared to the terrible pain you are feeling, but trust me, it does get easier.

Oh Pete, I'm so very sorry! I cried when I read your post. Hali was absolutely gorgeous--a little jewel-colored angel. It's so awful when you lose them young because you feel that they and you have been cheated.

My avian vet doesn't like performing surgery on birds because he says they don't do well under anesthesia. He performed surgery on one of my young rollers last month to remove a large growth (an abscess, we think) from his neck. Tucker made it through the surgery but the doc said his heartbeat became erratic and he wasn't able to explore as much as he wanted to. I think it's always risky when they require surgery, but you do what you have to and I'm sure Hali's mass had to be removed. I hate those "between the devil and the deep blue" decisions. You did everything you could for her and I hope that gives you some measure of peace. At least she didn't waste away in pain and suffering.

I know the heartache all too well, as you know from my post the other day. I'm weeping with you and sending hugs and prayers.

As it came to pass our courageous beautiful little Hali was escorted to the Rainbow Bridge by all of The Super Powered Pigeons.

She was given a farewell of "royalty". The last thing she said before she flew over the rainbow was "Tell Mommy and Daddy not to be so sad, I will be right here waiting for them, and they will always see me reflecting the aqua arc in the rainbow."

Thank you all for you compassion as it's greatly needed and appreciated. Unfortunately the surgery was needed as the mass would have blinded her and caused hearing loss so it seemed to be necessary as we didn't want to see her deaf and blind. The Dr did tell us she was riddled with cancer and the one large mass was just the tip of the iceberg. My little girl was so strong as she showed no pain and continued to eat, play and act like her normal self despite being so ill.
I can picture her being escorted by the SPPs, even Dorian is noticing her absence and acting differently.
Again I thank you all for being here for me in my time of grief!

Oh my god Pete, I'm so, so sorry to hear about your beautiful Hali. I'm shocked and so sad for you & Hali's mommy... I know the heartache you are both feeling all too well. It's just not fair. Please take some comfort in knowing she had such a loving family.

Pete, I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. We all knew and loved Hali. You know she was an important member of our SPP's. I wouldn't be surprised if they helped escort her to the rainbow bridge.

She was such a beautiful little girl and I know it will leave a hole in your heart for a very long time. God bless you sweet Hali.

Oh Maggie,

Hali was escorted by the SPP's to the "Rainbow Bridge". Read post #21.

She was on her white horse, and Mr Squeaks and Tooter were on each side of her. In formation all of the SPP's followed. There must be alot more of them than we ever imagined. The sky roared as they passed over...then burst open. I think that the tears of everyone that will miss her all came down at once. It was pouring here. She must have been loved tremendously.

Dear Pete & family (Dorian too!)
Our prayers are with all of you for God's comfort on this most sad loss.
I'm glad that she was sleeping soundly when she awoke to Heaven with all her new millions of friends to greet her.
She will send loving blessings upon all of you until you all meet again.

Just read what you said and saw the rainbow picture you posted, Feather...

What a superbly elegant gesture and BEAUTIFULLY done! On behalf of all the SPPs, thank you SO MUCH!
