I miss you so much RomeoRomeo September 26, 1997 – April 27, 2011 On Wednesday, April 27 at 2:00 a.m., Romeo lost his 9 year battle with congestive heart failure. Though his heart had become weaker over the passed few months, he continued to love life, walks, bike rides, car rides, his special peanut butter cookies and hanging out on the balcony. He was cradled in our arms and surrounded with our love through to the end. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him more than seems possible to bear. I did not think my heart could break anymore when I felt the life leave his little body, but then Kiko (who had been on my shoulder while we comforted Romeo) jumped down onto Romeo and let out a long and mournful sounding noise that I have never heard before. My heart just shattered and haven't been able to stop crying since. I love you so much Romeo.

Thank you. It happened so fast and I'm just not ready to lose him. We are leaving now to take him to be cremated. To make sure he is not disrespected, I am personally witnessing the service. Oh god, I hope I can do this for him. It's just all happening so fast.

I'm so sorry you lost your precious friend, Romeo. I'm sure you gave him a wonderful life and he knew he was loved. Rest in peace Romeo.

Thank you so much. I just have not been able to get a grip over my feelings yet. Just when I think I am gaining a bit of calm, I see or think of something that reminds of him and the pain is crushing all over again. I hope to post some pictures of Romeo with K and K on my photo album soon, but for now, it's just too hard to handle.
Poor Kiko was really hit hard by this. He was so bonded with Romeo and he is so obviously depressed. He hardly makes any noise and just sits next to me all day. Earlier today I heard him making a strange noise (like a cross between a honk and a squeal) repeatedly. He was sitting on Romeo's dog bed.
