Unhappy

In loving memory...

I know this is for birds but thought I'd put this here, if it's in the wrong catagory feel free to move it:

Just posting that five years ago today was when my beagle mix Sienna passed away in 2004.

Honestly when I found out it hit me like a brick...even 5 years later I still feel the same.

I had wanted to post a tribute for her today but I've postponed till the weekend.

Sienna was my first dog and a good friend.

I appreciate Sympathy comments...

Thanks!

Sienna must have been a very special dog. Every special animal friend that comes our way is a joy and a blessing. I hope the good memories of your time together will comfort you when you feel sad thinking about her.

So sorry for the impact this loss is still having on you. Beagles are such sweet dogs and seem to take such pleasure in life.

I am glad you posted a tribute to your beloved friend Sienna. This may be a forum mostly for birds, and I hope I speak for most, we all feel your loss. I think we all have had or do have a special critter friend that really impact's our lives. They make us better people. It shows, that you still think so lovingly of Sienna after all this time. My thoughts are with you while your remember you good friend. Is your avatar a picture of Sienna? If so, thats a nice tribute too.

Is Sienna the dog in your avatar? Losing a dog is ruff, especially as a child. I hope you have another dog to love. Its nice that you can remember and pay tribute to your beloved Sienna. Dogs are a man's best friend. mindy

Birddogg,

You will always remember your first dog. In fact, you will remember all your dogs during your lifetime. When you think of Sienna, remember all the good times, her sweet smile, her crazy bark. Humans and dogs have such a wonderful relationship. They love us so much even when we are angry towards them. And just when you least expect it, a new dog will enter your life and you can start another fulfilling relationship.

You are a lucky guy to know the love of animals. You will never forget Sienna.
Keep her in your heart and remember all the good times.

Thanks for the posts, folks I didn't know that this thread had been approved by the mods so that's why it took me so long to reply. Er... Birdbarn I'm actually a girl...it's a common mistake so it's not a big deal.

My folks got Sienna back in '93 when she was 4 months old, I was 2 at the time so we basically grew up together. She was 11 (60 in dog years) in 2004 when she passed. According to the breed she may have been mixed with, the Beagle Harrier they live for 11-12 years so she lived a full life.

She was a great dog and one I consider my best friend.

As for the dog in my avatar, that's actually a beagle pic I found in a search. It was one of the few pics I found that looked like her. Here's a pic of Sienna:

For those who aren't familar will Beagle Harriers there's a link below.

For a hound, she didn't bark much and it probably was cause she might've been abused by her previous owners. At rescue where my folks got her from they didn't really tell us much about her old home except that she was rescued from a bad situation.

The dogs I currently have now are Bentley a 4 year old fawn pug and Rudy a 3 year old tricolor beagle who surprisingly resembles Sienna, honestly they could've been mother and daughter.

Rudy- This is a puppy pic of Rudy at coincedentally 4 months old! she's full grown now and her looks have changed somewhat. I was holding her in this pic.

Sienna is also the main character/protagonist in my original series, Hooked on Mutts:
