Lost Momma Dove last night RIP

Lost my Momma Dove last night. She had a large tumor on her back, they tried to remove it and things looked good but then after about a week it started growing back and she just became weaker and weaker even with tube feeding. Then last night she died. Going to miss her, she was a very good bird and raised 5 beautiful babies. RIP Momma Dove.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Momma Dove. I know she had a wonderful life with you and she has left a gift of herself in each of her babies. Thank you for taking such good care of her, I know you did all you could.

Oh Nab, I am so sorry to hear that. You tried but it wa just too much for her, I hope she went to the summerland in peace.

I am so sorry Nab.

One of my baby doves with calcium deficiency died last night, he and another one with the same problem used to snuggle up together all the time. Maybe Momma Dove will look after him.

Nab & Cynthia,

Heartfelt condolences to you both on the sad loss of your birds.

Nab, I lost 2 very dear birds (cockatiel and parakeet) to tumours in 2005 and 2006. It is awful watching them going downhill when there is nothing you can do but try to make them as comfortable as possible. Mamma dove was beautiful and I know she will be sadly missed by you and everyone here.

I'm so sorry you both lost babies last night, Cynthia and Nab. Those tumors are so hard to get rid of, I know in rats at least they just come back over and over again. I hope you both find extra peace with your other birds today.

This is so sad to read about both little doves. I recently lost two almost within a week of each other and it sure hurts. Nab, your mamma dove was so pretty.
