Micklewood - Tears on Christmas Day

I am very sorry to say that Micklewood, our beautiful young London woodie, left us on Christmas Day.

He had a tremendous will to live, but was eventually defeated by a severe case of internal and external pox.

Micklewood was original rescued by Les and Keiko and had been with us since mid September but John had taken over his care when I became ill and had become very attached to him ..we both had, he was a brave and feisty bird. We will miss him.

The picture below is of him perching on Les' slipper when he was first rescued.

Cynthia

Cynthia,

I'm so sorry to hear about Micklewood. What a beautiful bird to have blessed you with the little time allowed.

We have seen alot of sadness here this year, and am hoping and praying this ends with the new year coming.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and John, during this sad time.

John and Cynthia, I am so sorry for the loss of this sweet woodie. You were blessed with his wonderful spirit for such a short time. You provided excellent supportive care and did what you could to give him every chance to recover. Now he is free of any discomfort and can fly high and far. What a special Christmas angel!

I'm so sorry about your precious little Micklewood. He looks so like the pigeon/dove hybrids I use to have. He is at peace now and able to fly with no pain anymore. I hope you are feeling better, too.

Cynthia, I am sorry to read about Micklewood. Please let John know how sorry I am. It doesn't matter if we have these precious little souls a day or 10 years because once you meet them it is instant love and the hurt from losing one is just as great. He was a beautiful little guy.

Cynthia and John,

I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Micklewood. His perching picture is just precious. It is always so heartbreaking when the bird wants to live so badly but is just too ill to be able to pull through.

Cynthia & John,

I'm so sorry to hear about Micklewood's passing, and on Christmas day no less I'm sure you are both devastated over losing him but I don't think I have to remind you of how lucky he was to have been rescued by you guys in the first place. He was given the best care and medical attention he could be and passed away in a very beautiful & loving environment.

I know this doesn't really help ease the sadness, but you have to try to remember that you did all you possibly could for him.

Take care folks,

Cynthia and John,

I am so sorry to hear about Micklewood. I remember you telling me about Les and Keiko's visit with a couple of babies needing help including Micklewood. Plus I know John was nursing him diligently whilst you were in the hospital.

So very sad to hear.

I'm so sorry you lost your belove Micklewood and on Christmas nonetheless. You gave him a warm loving home and an extended life and we're all positive he's grateful for all you did for him.
