Parsley (1995 - 12 Oct 2007)Parsley my pied pearl cockatiel died today aged 12. She was a companion to my dear lutino cockatiel Rosie for many years before Rosie passed on in May 2005. She was a beautiful sweet natured bird who was tame within a week of receiving her. She especially loved having her neck tickled but was very quick to scold you if you were not scratching her in the right places! She had a strong bond with myself and was well known for not tolerating others attempts to befriend her. Being such a stunningly beautiful bird, she had admirers from the rest of my flock. My budgie Dillon threw out the love hearts for her and followed her everywhere when he was alive. Angus my two year old budgie was also fascinated by her presence and will surely miss her now that she has passed.
All my birds witnessed her sad sudden passing today. I'm sure they grieved with me today. In their silence they listened to my cries. Their little eyes watching. I opened my window so that Parsley's spirit could fly free and asked Rosie to look after her sister while she flew over to Rainbow Bridge. Crying now...Rest in Peace my dear Parsley. I love you and miss you. http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/a...3/DSCF0090.jpg Lindi |

Lindi, my heart is full for your loss. I remember you writing about Parsley's egg laying problem several months ago. My little Molly cockatiel died much the same way as Parsley, suddenly and not easily, in my arms. It can really tear you to pieces. I'm so glad you had 12 happy years with her and you just know that Rosie was waiting at the foot of the bridge for her.
A big hug and kiss across the Atlantic to you.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss of Parsley. She was certainly a lovely girl. It sounds like she has many loved ones waiting for her across the rainbow bridge. I hope Angus isn't too lonely without her. I wish you comfort from your other animals during this very sad time.
