Oh sooo sorry to hear about Chubs Reti... it is always so hard to say goodbye to our little critters... Daisy will adjust. Who knows, maybe she will become friendlier with all the attention she is likely to recieve. Chubs was lucky he was brought to the clinic you worked at! What a special gift he got! Again, so sorry about your loss and your sadness. Remember him well.

Reti, I'm very sorry to hear about Chubs and hope that the household, both
human and animal, can adjust to life w/out Chubs even though never the same without him. RIP, Chubs, you are well loved. fp

I am so sorry, Reti. Thank goodness you were on the spot and Chubs had two extra years of good life ...and I'll bet those two years were significantly happier than the years leading up to them if the boyfriend cared so little he abandoned them to Cruella.

Reti,
I am so sorry to hear about Chubs, I know it is a heartbreak as you are his hero since you rescuid him from the clinic. At least he had those last 2 years with you and he got the best care. Sending you a BIG hug for comfort and one for Daisy too.

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved Chubs bunny, Reti. What a blessing you were able to save his life and give him so many extra years. It is common with rabbits for them to "mourn" for a few days after losing a mate or cage-mate, as far as I've seen personally. With some extra special attention Daisy should be able to feel better soon. I had two large rabbits once from a neighbor of a girl I babysat for (the neighbor was of a nationality where they ate rabbits, and they were tired of having them as pets and were just going to eat them
) so I interceded and took them. When one of them passed on a year later, the other one was devastated and wouldn't eat or move for two days. After that she perked up and started hanging out with one of the cats. I really hope you and your husband are able to feel better, and that your other pets help to ease the heartache. ![]()

I am so sorry to hear about Chubs, Reti!
Do rabbits tend to mate for life? Would another female or male be helpful for Daisy? I have always liked rabbits but know little about them. One of the first things I wanted to see when I moved to AZ was a genuine, real life Jackrabbit. Before all the building around me, I received my wish. Have always loved the pictures I've seen of the Lops. I was given a cute poster showing a Lop with the caption, "You're no bunny 'til some bunny loves you." Love that picture! Wishing you and your husband love and hugs at this sad time. RIP Chubs Shi |
